Zoolatry is a series of photographic composites centered around the landscape and wildlife. The designs reference traditional stained glass windows of churches to elevate the perceived status of endangered animals and the natural environment. By placing images of wild animals in contexts typically reserved for religious figures and narratives, the digital composites encourage viewers to consider the natural world as equally worthy of awe, respect and reverence.
These images are presented as public art murals, printed on vinyl laminate designed for exterior applications. Each image/mural has a corresponding $20 poster version that raises money for related non-profit organizations. In the future, these images will also be printed on glass for window applications.
